What is Credence Capital?
Credence Capital
Credence Capital is a student-run fund that aims to further IIM Lucknow community’s knowledge in financial markets, asset markets and personal finance through practical exposure to trading and investment analysis.
Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow (IIML)
Situated at the outskirts of the historic and culturally-rich city of Lucknow, IIML was established in 1984 by the Government of India as a national-level school of excellence in management science.
Credence Capital’s Activities
Fund Management
Credence Capital manages one of the largest student-run funds in India. It invests student funds in both the Indian equity and derivatives market. The focus is more on the means and methods of generating returns rather than the returns themselves. However, Credence Capital has also managed to beat the markets in the equity and derivatives fund over the past two years.
Weekly Newsletters
It updates the students about the performance of the fund on a continuous basis and supplements the information with a review of the latest economic and market trends in weekly newsletters.
Stock Valuations and Recommendations
It distributes informative material on stock valuation and recommendations and the methodology behind them.
Knowledge Sessions
It conducts knowledge sessions for both first-year and second-year students. The primary focus is on picking stocks, Fundamental analysis, Technical analysis, Advanced Technical analysis, Investment Management and Personal Finance.
Finance being the most sought after career path in IIM Lucknow, Credence Capital acts as an avenue for the students to test and apply their learnings in finance at a practical level.
Going Forward
Over the last two years, Credence Capital has witnessed exponential growth. Going forward, we wish to invite speakers with hands-on experience in the industry to conduct lectures and workshops to help the students gain practical knowledge and exposure to the real financial world. Also, we would like to collaborate with organizations of similar interests and invite them to come forward and help us forge a relationship that will prove mutually beneficial to both of us.
